Sonia Kruger, one of Australia's highest-paid television presenters, is reportedly assembling a professional showreel to pitch herself to broadcasters in the United States and the United Kingdom. The move comes as her network, Seven, continues to review its entertainment programming and implement cost-cutting measures.

According to The Australian, the 60-year-old Gold Logie winner's showreel preparation signals a potential overseas career pivot. Seven is currently evaluating the future of some of its major reality franchises due to significant production budgets and costly international licensing agreements. While Kruger remains the face of flagship programs like "The Voice" and "Dancing with the Stars," the future of "The Voice" beyond its scheduled return later this year remains unconfirmed for 2027.

Kruger has previously fueled speculation about her international ambitions, documenting a recent trip to Los Angeles on social media. She shared positive experiences with United Airlines' premium services during her travels, jokingly captioning one post, "Pretending this is my normal life!"

This reported overseas interest follows earlier rumors in 2025 about Kruger's future at Seven. At that time, reports suggested her position might be less secure following network changes, including "Big Brother" moving to a rival network with a new host. A "highly placed source" at Seven was quoted as calling Kruger "vulnerable" due to her reported $1.3 million contract. However, representatives for Kruger at the time denied these claims, stating she was under a long-term contract, had not received a pay cut, and was "very happy at the network."

Kruger has been a recognizable figure in Australian television for over three decades. The potential move overseas comes as her husband, Craig McPherson, departed his role as head of news and current affairs at Seven West Media in April 2024. A Seven spokesperson had previously refuted claims that these developments indicated Kruger had fallen out of favor at the network.
