Snoop Dogg has entered the summer treat market with his new frozen confection, the 'Snoopsicle,' now available at Costco. The patriotic-colored treat combines raspberry, cherry, and lime sherbet, made with real fruit juice and no artificial colors.
The Snoopsicle is the latest offering from Dr Bombay, a food brand co-founded by Snoop Dogg and his son, Cordell Broadus. The brand was inspired by the rapper's father, who grew up on a Mississippi dairy farm and churned ice cream by hand. Dr Bombay's product line also includes ice cream pints and other snacks.
Fans have expressed excitement for the new treat online. However, the Snoopsicle's availability is currently limited to Costco members. It is unclear if or when the frozen bars will be sold at other retailers. A 24-count box is priced at $14.99, with each treat containing 60 calories.
Dr Bombay's mission, according to its website, is to offer "flavor, remixed," blending nostalgic tastes with modern twists. The brand also aims to create snacks that stand out in crowded grocery aisles.
Snoop Dogg has previously collaborated with snack brands, including Rap Snacks and Do The Right Thing, to create products like Snoop Box Kettle Chips, also found at Costco. These chips are gluten-free and made without artificial ingredients, trans fats, or added sugars, and are prepared with avocado oil.
Rap Snacks CEO James Lindsay stated that the collaboration with Snoop Dogg felt like the perfect moment to integrate him into the Do The Right Thing world, aiming to help people "snack smarter without giving up flavor." Costco was chosen as the retail partner to reach a mainstream audience.
