'Slow Horses' Season 6 Premieres Sept. 16 on Apple TV

The critically acclaimed espionage drama "Slow Horses," starring Gary Oldman as the curmudgeonly Jackson Lamb, returns for its sixth season on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, September 16. New episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays through October 21.

Slough House, the MI5 department for disgraced agents, is again at the center of the action. Season 6 sees the "slow horses" embroiled in a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge orchestrated by Diana Taverner, played by Kristin Scott Thomas. Olivia Cooke reprises her role as Sid Baker from the first season.

"Slow Horses" has garnered critical acclaim and several award nominations. The series recently won an Emmy for outstanding directing for a drama series at the Primetime Emmys, where it also received nominations for outstanding drama series, outstanding lead actor for Oldman, outstanding supporting actor for Jack Lowden, outstanding writing, and outstanding direction.

New episodes are expected to be available on Apple TV+ around 9:00 p.m. ET on Tuesdays, the night before their official release date. While a subscription to Apple TV+ is required, the service offers a seven-day free trial, allowing viewers to watch initial episodes without charge. Subscriptions cost $14.99 per month. Apple TV+ can also be accessed through Amazon Prime Video for the same monthly fee, also including a seven-day free trial.

The series, based on Mick Herron's "Slough House" novels, has already been renewed for a seventh and eighth season. Season 6 draws inspiration from the sixth and seventh books in the series, "Joe Country" and "Slough House."
