Slipknot has officially announced their parting ways with DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson, who has been with the heavy metal band for nearly 30 years. The news was shared in a statement on the official Instagram account for the band's music festival, Knotfest.

"Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson," the statement read. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Wilson, 49, joined Slipknot in 1998 as the band's ninth member, shortly before the release of their self-titled debut album in 1999. He remained with the group for 28 years.

News of Wilson's departure was first reported earlier this month by TMZ, which cited the bandmates' alleged frustration with his behavior.

Wilson has not publicly commented on his departure. The announcement comes months after news broke that he and his former fiancée, Kelly Osbourne, had called off their engagement. Osbourne and Wilson share a 3-year-old son and dated for four years. Osbourne later posted, and subsequently deleted, a series of intense Instagram Stories seemingly addressing their split, with one stating, "Wake the f–k up and take some responsibility I will not take your s–t anymore! I’m done."

An insider told People that Osbourne "just doesn’t want the drama in her life right now. Sid has a lot he needs to work through on his own."
