Former reality star Skye Wheatley has again sparked public speculation about the status of her relationship with long-time partner Lachlan Waugh after fans noticed he has not appeared on her social media in more than two months.
Followers pointed to recent posts that focus on Wheatley’s parenting and family life with no mention or images of Waugh, prompting questions online about whether the couple has quietly separated. "What are you thinking with Skye & Lachie? Lots are saying they've split. Haven't posted each other in ages," one user wrote. Another asked Wheatley directly on Instagram, "Are you and Lockie having problems? Your kids seem to be in Sydney a bit."
The couple, who have been together for seven years, share two sons, Forest, six, and Bear, three, and are based on the Gold Coast. Wheatley, 31, has previously acknowledged periods of difficulty in the relationship. In November she told followers the pair had taken a "lil re-set break," explaining they had trialled a co-parenting arrangement in which each would care for the children on alternating nights.
"Honestly not much to report. We just have a lil re-set break from time, it's good," Wheatley said at the time, adding that the pair had also been attending counselling. She later said that Lachlan had asked her to "come home" so they could parent their sons together, and the break did not last long.
Observers have pointed to other indicators of separate activity; one fan noted Waugh had recently attended a gender-reveal event without Wheatley, and several social-media users said he had travelled to events with their son. Wheatley first publicly hinted at relationship strain in February 2023, when she said the couple were "on a break" and experimenting with co-parenting.
The pair are also reported to be jointly overseeing an extensive home renovation project. Daily Mail reporters have contacted Wheatley for comment regarding the latest social-media absence.
Neither Wheatley nor Waugh has issued a fresh public statement confirming a current separation, and their public posts have, at times, reflected a pattern of brief breaks and reconciliations. The recent social-media gap has generated renewed attention from followers who have tracked the couple's on-again, off-again developments since 2023.
The situation underscores the challenges public figures face when private relationship changes intersect with highly visible social-media lives. Reporting will continue as either party provides an update or comment.
