Singer Sinitta recently described the romance between her ex-boyfriend Simon Cowell and her best friend Lauren Silverman as a "bitter pill to swallow." The comments came as Sinitta, Cowell, and Silverman were seen together at the Wednesday evening gala for "Sinatra The Musical" at London's Aldwych Theatre.

Despite the past complexities, the trio appeared to be on good terms, with Silverman and Sinitta sharing a warm embrace outside the venue. Cowell was also seen hugging Sinitta. Silverman wore a grey dress with red heels, while Sinitta chose a khaki slip dress with gold jewelry and platform heels. Cowell sported his signature t-shirt, black trousers, and aviator sunglasses.

Sinitta, who has known Cowell for decades, previously told Closer magazine that her relationship with him had evolved into a sibling-like dynamic, emphasizing there was "no awkwardness" and a "soul connection."

Past Relationships and Personal Reflections

In candid comments earlier this year, Sinitta revealed on the "Suddenly Single" podcast that her 2002 marriage to businessman Andy Willner was a "revenge move" against Cowell for not settling down with her. She explained that after Cowell, whom she met in the early 1980s, repeatedly told her he never wanted children, she had to adjust when he began a family with Silverman.

Sinitta, who adopted two children with Willner, described her marriage as an attempt to prove she wasn't waiting for Cowell, a period she characterized by seeking "retaliation relationships" to counter her pride.

She also discussed the emotional challenge of maintaining her friendship with Silverman, who began dating Cowell in 2013 and is now his fiancée. Sinitta is the godmother to their son, Eric. "We still worked together. We still got on with it. So I did a lot of, I think, self-harm by trying to squash all my feelings," Sinitta said, noting that learning Cowell was expecting a child with Silverman felt like "the end of an era."

Sinitta credited therapy for helping her understand her long-held attachment to Cowell, whom she described as a constant presence in her life since her teenage years, offering security that contrasted with her nomadic childhood traveling with her mother, disco singer Miquel Brown.

Other attendees at the "Sinatra The Musical" event included Vanessa Feltz, Bruno Tonioli, Chloe Meadows, and Gareth Gates.
