Simmie DeBlock, the sister of Sydney socialite Lou O'Neil, announced on Saturday that she is expecting a daughter, sharing the news on Instagram three months after O'Neil revealed she was expecting her second child.

Simmie, who posted images with her husband, singer Taylor DeBlock, captioned the announcement "Baby DeBlock" with a pink bow emoji and wrote, "Halfway to meeting our dream girl." In the photos she wore an all-white outfit with her baby bump visible while Taylor cradled her abdomen. The couple posed among pink flowers and greenery and were shown leaning in for a kiss in one slide.

Lou O'Neil responded to her sister's post in the comments, writing, "I love you to the moon and back baby girl!!" O'Neil had announced in June that she and her husband, property developer Jake O'Neil, were expecting their second child and later indicated the baby would be a girl due in October.

O'Neil and Jake are already parents to a son, Otis Donald O'Neil, who was born Nov. 17, 2023. The couple married at the heritage-listed Carthona mansion in Sydney's Darling Point in a ceremony that united two prominent Australian families. Jake O'Neil works for the family business Addenbrooke and is the son of superyacht broker Denis O'Neil and Charlotte O'Neil. Lou is the daughter of the late Donald Hay, founder of brush manufacturer Hayco. Lou and Jake originally dated in high school before reuniting in 2020.

Simmie DeBlock's Instagram announcement follows a pattern of public pregnancy reveals among well-known Australian social figures, where staged photo series and family commentary are commonly shared with followers. Neither Simmie nor Taylor DeBlock provided further details on the expected due date in the Instagram post, and no formal statements were released by the families.

The announcements mean two cousins will be born into closely connected Sydney social circles within months of each other, continuing media interest in the private lives of well-known local families. Social media remains the primary channel for such personal news from public figures in Australia, with posts frequently including staged photography and family reactions that are then reported by entertainment outlets.

Representatives for Lou O'Neil, Jake O'Neil and the DeBlock family did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment.
