Sid Wilson has reportedly been removed from the heavy metal band Slipknot after nearly 30 years, according to a new report. Wilson, 49, who serves as the band's DJ and keyboard player, was allegedly informed of his permanent exit on Friday. The reason for the reported fallout remains unclear.

Wilson joined Slipknot in early 1998, becoming the ninth member to join the band's evolving lineup. He was known for his gas mask-inspired designs and energetic stage performances, which included crowd dives and climbing venue structures. His tenure with the band spanned almost three decades.

The Grammy-winning band has experienced several lineup changes over the years. Bassist Paul Gray died in 2010, and drummer Joey Jordison passed away in 2021 after leaving the band in 2013. Percussionist Chris Fehn was dismissed in 2019, and keyboardist Craig Jones exited in 2023 under undisclosed circumstances. If Wilson's departure is confirmed, only vocalist Corey Taylor, percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, and guitarists Mick Thomson and Jim Root would remain from the band's classic lineup.

This news comes several months after Wilson's public split from his fiancée, Kelly Osbourne. The couple announced their separation in March, seven months after Wilson proposed. Osbourne and Wilson share a son, Sidney, who was born in 2022. Sources close to Osbourne indicated that she had been facing challenges in their relationship for some time, attempting to make it work for their child before deciding to separate. Osbourne has reportedly been focusing on her sobriety and her role as a mother following the separation.

Wilson and Osbourne first met approximately 27 years ago. Osbourne shared a public message on Valentine's Day 2022, expressing her deep love for Wilson and their journey from friendship to a romantic relationship. He proposed to Osbourne at a concert by her late father's band, Black Sabbath.
