EastEnders actress Shona McGarty recently enjoyed a sun-drenched vacation in Malta, sharing glimpses of her trip on social media. The 34-year-old actress posted images of herself in a blue and yellow bikini and a green halterneck dress, highlighting the island's scenery, food, and drinks. McGarty expressed her enjoyment of the trip, stating, "The food, the views, the little streets, the sunshine… all of it was a 10/10." She added that Malta has "made the list of places I’d happily visit again… preferably ASAP."
In addition to her travels, McGarty spoke about her burgeoning relationship with former EastEnders co-star Tony Discipline. The couple, who played Whitney Dean and Tyler Moon on the soap, confirmed their romance recently after years of friendship. McGarty revealed she has "always felt like" Discipline was "The One."
"We've been friends since meeting on EastEnders – we've known each other for 15 years, but for a long time it felt to me like it could be more," McGarty told The Sun. She described Discipline, who left acting to become a firefighter, as an "old-school gentleman" and expressed feeling "so happy" and "never felt so cared for" in their relationship. The couple made their romance Instagram official last month, sharing photos from a holiday together, including one with matching tattoos of a toaster with bread, a pineapple, and a palm tree.
McGarty's relationship with Discipline comes after her engagement to David Bracken ended last November. She and Bracken, an Irish guitarist, met in 2023 after he messaged her on TikTok. Their engagement was mutually called off prior to McGarty's participation in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last November.
