Sharon Stone, 68, has revealed that she has been celibate for an extended period and is now seeking a companion rather than casual relationships. In a recent appearance on Mayim Bialik's Breakdown podcast, the actress stated that her priorities have shifted, particularly as her children are grown.
"I'm a really good girlfriend, but I haven't been a girlfriend in a long time," Stone said. "And I've been a girlfriend to bad boyfriends. And I've been a girlfriend to good boyfriends. I've had good luck and bad luck and no luck at all. And for quite a while, I've had no luck at all."
She explained her current stance: "I've been celibate for quite a while now because I'm at the point where I really only want to be with someone that I care for. And now that my kids are grown, I want someone that's my companion, not just someone to have sex with. I'm kind of bored with that."
Stone, who is mother to three adopted sons, believes that accepting periods of solitude is a necessary step toward finding the relationship she desires. Despite two marriages, to Michael Greenburg (1984-1990) and Phil Bronstein (1998-2004), she expressed that she does not believe she has experienced the great love of her life.
Recounting past experiences, Stone shared that two psychics independently predicted a significant romantic development when she approaches age 70. One psychic, whom she visited at age 23, also accurately foresaw her future fame and described her future partner as someone with whom she would strongly identify.
"You're not going to meet your person until you're quite old, quite a bit older," Stone recalled the psychic telling her. "And then they're going to be like you. In a way, you're going to identify with them. But it won't be until you're really quite a bit older, almost 70."
This sentiment was echoed by a second psychic who offered a similar prophecy.
Stone also addressed the label "difficult" that can be applied to women in Hollywood. She suggested that this designation can arise when actresses decline advances or refuse to engage in relationships with individuals they are not genuinely interested in. "I'm a super professional. I am not difficult, but you get the term 'difficult' if you don't have sex with, sometimes, people they want you to have sex with," she stated. "You get the term, you are difficult. So am I difficult in that way? The most."
Her comments come amidst a renewed public dispute with her "Sliver" co-star Billy Baldwin, who recently stated he would "never, ever" work with her again. The long-standing tension between them dates back to the 1993 film, with Stone having previously alleged that the film's late producer Robert Evans pressured her to have a sexual relationship with Baldwin to improve their on-screen chemistry. Baldwin has denied these claims and has spoken about the difficult atmosphere on set.
