Sharon Osbourne, the widow of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, has encouraged fans to remember her late husband by playing music “really loud” on the first anniversary of his death.
Speaking to the BBC exactly one year after his passing, Osbourne shared her emotions and reflected on Ozzy’s contributions to music and his authentic personality. "As Ozzy would say, 'when you want to remember me, just yank up the music really loud, as loud as you can get it, and just head bang'," she recounted.
Birmingham, the city where Ozzy Osbourne was born and raised, prepared to hold its first Ozzy Day, a free celebration of the legendary musician. Sharon Osbourne described him as “authentic” and “genuine,” noting that he was always truthful. "He never tried to be anything other than what he was, and he would tell you the truth about everything and that was him, you knew where you were with him," she said.
She also recalled his sense of humor, stating, "He was just genuine, so genuine and funny. I mean we could have the worst arguments in the world but we would end up laughing because he would say something so ridiculous that we would just crack up."
The first anniversary of Ozzy Osbourne's death was marked by public remembrance and celebration of his career, which significantly impacted the music world.
