Sharon Osbourne wrote on Instagram Friday, breaking a near two-month silence after the death of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, and said she has found comfort in an unexpected pastime: falconry.

In a lengthy post, Sharon thanked fans for the "overwhelming love and support," saying their messages "have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights." She shared a video of herself and daughter Kelly Osbourne spending an afternoon handling raptors, calling the experience "nothing short of magical."

Sharon described the bond falconers form with their birds as "built entirely on trust and confidence," writing that "They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them." In the video she posted, one bird lands on her gloved hand and eats from her palm while she and Kelly watch; in another clip she pets a raptor before it flies off. The sequence ends with Sharon smiling at the camera while an owl rests on her raptor glove.

Kelly Osbourne posted her own footage and wrote, "Today I introduced my mum to falconry and she loved it! Thank you @gerardsulter for putting a smile on my mum’s face too!" The family has shared moments of public grief since Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman known as the "Prince of Darkness," died in July at age 76.

Ozzy Osbourne, born John Michael Osbourne on Dec. 3, 1948, left a widely recognized mark on rock music and popular culture, both as the leader of Black Sabbath and as a figure in the reality series The Osbournes. Following his death in July, the family issued a brief statement saying, "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time." Media coverage has also shown Sharon, Kelly and son Jack Osbourne visibly emotional while viewing tributes left by fans.

Sharon’s Instagram message emphasized that she is still "finding my footing" in the weeks after her husband’s death. She closed by expressing gratitude for the public’s response: "I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way." The posts by Sharon and Kelly offered a rare personal glimpse into how members of the family are navigating grief and seeking solace.
