Sharon Osbourne made her first public appearance since the funeral for her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, in an Instagram video shared by their daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on Sept. 11, 2025. The clip shows the 72-year-old former music manager smiling as an owl lands on her gloved hand during a falconry experience Kelly described as having “put a smile” on her mother’s face.
“Today I introduced my mum to falconry and she loved it!” Kelly wrote alongside the post. The brief video, shared to the daughter’s Instagram account, drew a flood of supportive comments from fans, many saying they were relieved to see Sharon out in public and offering messages of sympathy and encouragement.
The outing came more than a month after Ozzy Osbourne’s death was announced July 22. The heavy metal icon’s cause of death was later reported as cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease. A funeral procession was held in the couple’s longtime home city of Birmingham, England, on July 30, and Ozzy was laid to rest the following day next to a lake at his Buckinghamshire estate during a private ceremony.
Sharon has been supported closely by family since Ozzy’s passing. An insider told People that Sharon was “heartbroken but very proud of the life the family built together,” and that her children had been “with her constantly, sharing stories, laughing through the tears and just being together.” Photographs from late July showed Sharon with children Kelly, Jack and Aimee viewing tributes in Birmingham and laying flowers ahead of the funeral procession.
Public attention to Sharon’s health and disposition intensified amid the family’s mourning. Observers noted she appeared frailer than usual in the falconry clip, but Kelly’s post and the accompanying images suggested a quiet attempt to find a gentle diversion during a difficult period.
Friends and fellow musicians were among those reported to have paid their respects at the funeral and private service. Attendees included longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde and musicians such as Marilyn Manson and Yungblud, as well as other figures from across the music world who gathered with the family to say goodbye.
Kelly’s Instagram post, and the visible tenderness between mother and daughter in the clip, prompted many followers to post messages such as “We’ve missed you!” and to wish the family “positive and healing vibes.” The appearance did not signal any change to the family’s request for privacy following Ozzy’s death; the family had previously asked for respect as they mourned.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne were married for 43 years. In the weeks after his death, Sharon has been seen at several private family events, including the Birmingham procession, and has continued to be accompanied by family members and close friends as she navigates the aftermath of the rock star’s passing.
