Sharon Horgan Dazzles in Sheer Lace at HBO's 'Youth' Premiere
The creator and star of the new HBO romantic comedy stunned in a daring black lace dress at the New York premiere.
Sharon Horgan made a striking appearance at the New York premiere of HBO's new series "Youth" on Thursday evening, opting for a bold, sheer black lace dress.
The 56-year-old actress and executive producer complemented her daring attire with a visible sheer bra and black undergarments, completing the ensemble with diamond drop earrings. The event marked the premiere of the romantic comedy series, which Horgan created and stars in.
"Youth" follows the journey of a 50-year-old divorcee navigating the complexities of finding love and intimacy while balancing the care of her aging parents and her adult son. Horgan, who also stars alongside Rupert Friend, Robbie Gee, and Aran Murphy, described the inspiration for the series to Radio Times. She explained that the idea began to form around the time she was turning 50, divorced, and re-entering the dating scene, finding the life stage ripe for comedic storytelling.
"So really, I was kind of hitting 50 then, and divorced and beginning to be out there again, and thinking that's an interesting time to join a woman's life when so many things are changing," Horgan told the outlet. "And thinking that she has this time, this freedom, and then finding out that she doesn't because her parents are getting older and need her, and her son isn't ready to move out of home, and it just felt like a really ripe world for comedy and storytelling."
The series, which launches on September 20, features Aran Murphy, the son of actor Cillian Murphy, in a significant role. His casting and striking resemblance to his father recently garnered significant attention following a London screening of the show, where social media users marveled at the likeness. Aran portrays Ruairi, a teenage character grappling with emotional challenges and social media trends.
Aran Murphy has been building his acting career with roles in "Klara and the Sun," the HBO and Sky co-production "WAR," and the 2022 indie sci-fi mystery "Lola." He has also crossed paths with notable figures in the industry, including Taylor Swift.
