Atomix, a Korean restaurant in Murray Hill, has earned the distinction of being the only U.S. establishment to be named on The 50 Best Restaurants in the World list, securing the 11th position.
The restaurant, which holds two Michelin stars, climbed one spot from its previous ranking of 12th.
Owned and operated by Junghyun 'JP' Park, who serves as executive chef, and Ellia Park, the manager, Atomix is part of NA:EUN Hospitality, a culinary collective that also includes other New York City eateries like Atoboy, Naro, and Seoul Salon.
Atomix offers a 12-course "Chef's Counter" menu featuring Korean dishes that incorporate culturally inspired cooking techniques. Menu highlights include honeysuckle sikhye, a modern take on the traditional Korean sweet rice drink, and premium lamb saddle with neungi mushrooms and dubu mu, a tofu-radish side dish, served with gosari rice.
The dining experience comes with a significant price tag. The "Chef's Counter" menu is priced at $424 per person in November and increases to $495 per person in December. The restaurant has a no-gratuity policy.
For those seeking a different experience, a bar tasting menu is available for $314 per diner in November and $352 in December, which includes a beverage pairing with a more limited food selection.
Reservations for Atomix are currently fully booked for the remainder of the year, with Tock, the online reservation platform, indicating that the next block of seats, for January 2027, will become available on December 1st.
The exclusivity of securing a table at Atomix has contributed to its status as a sought-after dining destination, frequently mentioned on social media platforms. Content creators have shared their experiences, with some describing it as the "best meal I’ve ever had in New York City" and "one of the best! In the world!"
