Sharna Burgess is set to return to the professional dancer cast of Dancing With the Stars for its upcoming 35th season, marking her comeback to the series after a five-year absence. The announcement was made by ABC on the show's official Instagram page and confirmed on Good Morning America. Season 35 is scheduled to premiere on September 15.
Burgess, 41, last competed on the show in season 30 in 2021, partnered with her now-fiancé, Brian Austin Green. She was a regular member of the professional dancer lineup for nearly a decade before taking a break. During her hiatus, Burgess welcomed a son, Zane, with Green in 2022. She has also been a popular judge on Dancing With the Stars Australia since 2019.
Her tenure on the American version of Dancing With the Stars began with season 13 as a troupe member. She was promoted to a professional dancer in season 16 and remained until season 29, with the exception of season 28. Notably, she won the Mirrorball Trophy in season 27 alongside radio personality Bobby Bones.
Burgess and Green began their relationship in 2020, and their appearance as a couple on DWTS followed in 2021. They welcomed their son, Zane, in 2022 and became engaged the following year. Green has five sons in total, including Kassius, 24, from his previous marriage to Vanessa Marcil, and Noah, 13, Bodhi, 12, and Journey, 10, with ex-wife Megan Fox.
While many celebrity contestants and professional dancers for the upcoming season have been revealed, the remaining stars will be unveiled on Good Morning America next week on Wednesday, September 2.
