Shania Twain playfully acknowledged missing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, attributing her absence to a prior commitment with one of Swift's former boyfriends. Twain explained during a recent interview with CTV's etalk that she was booked to open for Harry Styles during his 12-show residency at London's Wembley Stadium, which concluded on July 4.
Swift and Kelce's wedding took place in New York City on July 3. Twain, who dated Styles between 2012 and 2013, described the situation as "funny" and stated she "would have done anything" to attend Swift's wedding.
"I was already committed," Twain said, emphasizing her prior engagement. "It would have been really lovely for me to be there, but I was with Harry."
Styles performed "Two Ghosts," a song reportedly inspired by his brief romance with Swift, hours after her wedding. Notably, Styles' fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, attended the ceremony solo.
Twain was not the only celebrity to miss the wedding due to professional obligations. Ryan Seacrest revealed he had to cancel his attendance after being hired by Disney for a Fourth of July special. James Taylor also missed the event, as he has performed at the Tanglewood Music Festival annually for the past 52 years on Independence Day.
Twain's remarks come after Swift and Kelce's July 3 nuptials at Madison Square Garden, which were attended by over 1,000 guests.
