Selena Gomez appeared in a halter crop top and black leggings Friday as she celebrated the fifth anniversary of her beauty brand, Rare Beauty, in Los Angeles, delivering remarks to her team and marking the milestone with cocktails and photographs.
The 33-year-old singer and actress, who has stepped back from promoting the new season of her series Only Murders in the Building, greeted colleagues at Ka’Teen restaurant and took part in a number of social moments captured in photographs, including selfies with co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short and a brief conversation with Jimmy Fallon.
Photos shared from the outing showed Gomez toasting with drinks, taking a bathroom mirror selfie and, in another shot, seated in a first-class cabin wearing a black mask. The appearance followed a recent burst of social-media attention after lingerie photographs for Victoria’s Secret circulated broadly online.
Gomez, who founded Rare Beauty in 2020, used the event to acknowledge the brand’s milestone and to speak to employees, according to people at the gathering. She has continued to combine business activities with her entertainment work; she remains linked to the cast of Only Murders in the Building, which stars Martin and Short, though she has taken a lower profile in recent promotional activity.
In interviews in recent weeks, Gomez discussed her personal life and the relationship with her fiancé, record producer Benny Blanco, whom she began dating in 2023 and whose engagement to Gomez was announced in December 2024. Several reports have said the couple plans to marry in Montecito by the end of the month.
Gomez has said Martin Short will serve as her ring bearer and that longtime makeup artist Hung Vanngo will be involved in wedding preparations. Speaking to Allure, she described personal changes over the past five years and reflected on how they have affected her readiness for marriage. "I don't think I would have been remotely mature enough," she said, adding that she and Blanco both grew into the relationship at the right time.
She also told Allure that Blanco helps keep her grounded. "I appreciate his heart, his kindness, his quirks … He's one of the most grounding people in my life, and he makes me feel very normal," she said.
On the Jake Shane podcast, Gomez discussed her initial expectations about dating Blanco, saying their current relationship benefited from timing and mutual readiness. She recounted reconnecting with him after earlier professional encounters and described how their friendship evolved into a romantic partnership.
Gomez’s public life has included highly visible moments since her 2018 breakup with Justin Bieber, a period she has described as formative. She has also balanced her music and acting careers with philanthropic work through Rare Impact Fund, the charitable arm of Rare Beauty.
Representatives for Gomez and Blanco did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Media coverage of Gomez’s recent activities reflects continued public interest in her professional ventures and personal milestones as she prepares for an upcoming wedding and continues to expand her brand and entertainment projects.
