Scarlett Moffatt is navigating a period of profound grief following the loss of two family members within the same week. The television personality shared on social media that her fiancé, Scott Dobinson, lost his mother, Janice, and shortly after, her own grandad passed away.

Moffatt, 35, described the experience on Wednesday, posting a selfie with Dobinson. "Grief is a strange thing," she wrote. "It can sit heavy on your heart, yet somehow still leave room for tiny pockets of joy." She added that smiling or laughing does not diminish the sense of loss but rather signifies that "love is still finding a way to carry you forward."

The couple have been leaning on each other and their young son, Jude, who is three years old, finding small moments of happiness in their favorite places. Moffatt shared images of family time and a recent scan of the baby she is expecting, a second son, due in the coming months.

On Friday, Moffatt had announced the passing of her grandad, expressing appreciation for the support received from fans. "Me, Scott and all our family really appreciate all of the love and kindness you've shown us following the loss of Janice and now my grandad. Thank you so much," she posted.

Earlier in the week, she had shared the news of Janice Dobinson's death, writing an emotional tribute and expressing sadness that she would not meet their new baby. However, the couple found a sliver of positivity during a recent scan.

"In the middle of such a heartbreaking week, we went to see our little boy today," Moffatt stated. "Seeing him wriggling away and knowing he's doing well gave us a little moment to smile when we really needed it." She also noted that their son Jude continues to bring them joy.

Moffatt and Dobinson have been together since 2018 and welcomed their son Jude in June 2023. They announced in April that they were expecting another child, with Moffatt expressing her desire to have a son to be a companion for Jude. "I feel like I was born to be a boy mum," she had said previously.

Scarlett Moffatt has revealed her grandad has sadly passed away.

Moffatt has previously spoken about her challenging four-year fertility journey before the birth of Jude. The couple shared their excitement about the new pregnancy on Instagram with a video of the ultrasound, writing, "One little miracle gave us Jude, and now he's going to be a big brother. We are so grateful, so excited, and still a little bit in shock... Our hearts are fuller than we ever thought possible."
