Sami Sheen said she was moved to tears after watching her estranged father Charlie Sheen’s Netflix documentary, posting an emotional reaction to social media and calling the special “honestly a 10/10.”

In a TikTok posted Thursday, the 21-year-old OnlyFans creator was seen lying in bed with teary eyes as she recounted portions of the documentary and wrote in the caption, “I didn’t know I was the reason he got sober.” She encouraged her more than 200,000 followers to stream the series and offered the one-line review.

Sami’s reaction comes amid a public and at times rocky family history that has played out in interviews, a memoir and reality television. Charlie Sheen, 60, addresses his addictions and family relationships in both the Netflix documentary "aka Charlie Sheen" and his recently published memoir, "The Book of Sheen: A Memoir." In those accounts, he wrote that a December 2017 incident involving Sami helped prompt his decision to get sober.

In the memoir, Charlie Sheen described a Dec. 10, 2017 morning when he was unable to drive his daughter because he had already had multiple whiskey-spiked coffees. He wrote that a friend arrived to drive and that Sami was “very quiet” in the back seat. Sheen recounted imagining what she must be feeling and wrote, "There was only one thing that felt worse than betraying myself, and that was failing my children." He added that Sami was not his “final straw; she was my first harvest,” and described stopping drinking the following days after taking Valium and alcohol on Dec. 11 and then quitting on Dec. 12.

Sami and her sister Lola, 20, are Charlie Sheen’s daughters with his ex-wife Denise Richards, who was married to Sheen from 2002 to 2006. Sami has publicly described an estranged and uneven relationship with her father. In April, while appearing on her mother’s Bravo reality show "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things," Sami said, "I would rather do literally anything else than go to lunch with my father," and explained that their contact has come in “very big chunks,” calling the first 13 years of her life “pretty bad.” She has also said she had not spoken with him for about a year.

Denise Richards has spoken about the family’s complicated dynamic in interviews, telling Us Weekly that Sheen’s relationships with both daughters have been complex since early on and that the family members are “finding their path.” Charlie Sheen has also addressed the strained relationship in recent comments, telling People, "There’s some stuff going on with Sami, but we’ll fix it," and adding that he has "more days behind me than in front of me."

The interplay between the documentary, the memoir and public statements has renewed attention on the family’s history of addiction, missed appearances and reconciliation efforts. The Netflix special and the memoir both place the December 2017 episode at a turning point in Sheen’s battle with substance abuse, presenting his decision to get sober as motivated in part by his daughters.

Sami’s TikTok endorsement gives the documentary a notable reaction from within the family, even as on-screen and off-screen accounts make clear that the Sheen family’s reconciliation remains a work in progress. The Netflix series and Sheen’s memoir are the latest public entries in a long-running narrative about substance use, parenting and attempts at repair that the family has discussed in books, television and interviews over several years.
