Sam Thompson and his former partner Samie Elishi were seen leaving the National Television Awards together on Wednesday, stepping outside to share a cigarette and a prolonged conversation amid the evening's proceedings.

The pair, who ended a short-lived romance in June, appeared in good spirits as they chatted in a smoking area and departed the venue before the official afterparty. Thompson, 33, hosted the NTAs red carpet, while Elishi, 25, attended as a representative of Love Island, which was nominated in the reality category.

The meeting was the latest public interaction between the two since their split. Daily Mail reported the relationship, which began in April, ended after roughly two months when it "fizzled out," with a source attributing the break to conflicting schedules. The couple were previously photographed kissing in public after attending a birthday party earlier in their short romance.

Earlier this summer footage obtained by Daily Mail showed Thompson and Elishi speaking at the Rehab's Rooftop Spa launch party alongside Thompson's former Made in Chelsea colleague Lucy Watson. A source described them queuing for drinks, laughing with friends and repeatedly returning to one another during the event.

Thompson's romantic life has been the subject of media attention since his split from former partner Zara McDermott, which was reported to have occurred around New Year's Day after five years together. McDermott has since been linked to singer Louis Tomlinson.

Following his split from Elishi, Thompson was linked to American wellness influencer Steph Robinson. Daily Mail quoted a source saying Thompson and Robinson "have been on a date and are getting to know each other," and noting that Robinson, who posts about nutrition and gut health to a substantial social media following, travels frequently for work but has been spending an extended period in London.

Separately, Thompson addressed his readiness to date on his podcast Staying Relevant in July, telling co-host Pete he intended to "work on" himself and was not ready to enter a relationship. "No, I'm going to work on myself. No dating, I'm not ready and I've realised that," he said on the programme.

The National Television Awards ceremony recognised a range of shows across drama, comedy and factual categories. Love Island was among the nominees in the reality competition field; the evening's winners included shows and personalities across multiple genres.

Both Thompson and Elishi have continued to work in television and media since their split. Representatives for the parties did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
