Sam Frost told followers she had fallen "off the wagon" partway through an intensive eight-week fitness program after family illnesses disrupted her routine, but said she was ready to restart.
Posting to her Instagram Stories over the weekend, the 36-year-old former Home and Away actor said she had been "really vibing" and feeling "amazing" at the halfway point of the program when her plans unraveled. She said her two-year-old son, Ted, became sick, then she fell ill, and her five-month-old son, Bobby, also caught the bug, forcing her to miss several days of exercise and making it hard to return.
"The house of cards fell down," Frost said in the video, adding that she intended to resume exercising "tomorrow, honestly, tomorrow, pinky swear." She told followers she wanted to "put the wheels back on" and recapture the feeling of being fit and strong.
Frost has been publicly documenting her post-pregnancy fitness journey after giving birth to two sons since 2023. In a recent before-and-after clip shared on social media, she showed footage from her peak gym days training with celebrity trainer Jono Castano at Acero gym in Sydney, contrasted with more recent, low-key clips of her in relaxed "mum" attire doing gentle stretches. Alongside the video she wrote that she was "beyond grateful" her body had grown two healthy boys and was "slowly working my way back to feeling fit and strong. One step at a time."
The actress rose to prominence on The Bachelor in 2014 and starred as The Bachelorette in 2015. She and partner Jordie Hansen announced their engagement on July 7, 2022. Frost has been open about balancing motherhood with public life and physical recovery, regularly sharing progress updates with her followers.
In the Instagram video, Frost struck an upbeat tone despite the setback. She said she had been enjoying the way she felt in leggings and jeans and encouraged followers that the benefits of feeling good were worth recommitting to the routine. She described the interruption as temporary and framed her comments as a candid account of the challenges of maintaining a fitness regimen while caring for young children.
Frost did not provide further details about the illnesses affecting her family. She reiterated her intention to return to the program and to continue sharing her journey with fans as she works toward her pre-pregnancy fitness goals.
