Salma Hayek, 59, has welcomed her first grandchild. The actress shared an Instagram video on Monday, delighting her over 30 million followers with a clip of the newborn boy. The baby is the son of her stepson, Francois Pinault Jr., and his wife, Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck.
Hayek revealed the child represents the 'fourth living generation of Francois' in her family but affectionately calls him 'Panchito.' In the video, the baby smiles and giggles while sleeping in her arms. "He seems to love it, and I cannot love him more," Hayek wrote in her caption, which was accompanied by the clip.
Hayek's husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, 64, has three other children from previous relationships. These include Francois Jr., Augustin, 19, and Mathilde, 25. Hayek and Pinault also share a biological daughter, Valentina, 18.
Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck, the new mother, recently shared photos from "our first month as parents" on Instagram. She referred to her husband as "the world’s coolest françois" and their son as "the world’s cutest françois." Photos included Hayek holding the baby, Henckel von Donnersmarck cradling her son, and the baby's father feeding and changing the infant.
Henckel von Donnersmarck and Francois Jr. announced their engagement in March, after approximately one year of dating. Their wedding date has not been publicly disclosed.
Hayek previously discussed her blended family, expressing a desire for more biological children. In a 2017 interview, she stated, "My body, as a miracle, had one." She added, "The huge blessing I’ve had is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so different."
Hayek is also preparing for the U.S. theatrical release of "Without Blood," directed by Angelina Jolie and based on Alessandro Baricco's novel. The film, in which Hayek stars as Nina, is scheduled for release on September 18 and explores themes of trauma, revenge, and reconciliation.
