Influencer Saffron Barker became emotional while discussing her breakup with boyfriend Josh Miln in a YouTube vlog released on Wednesday. Barker, 26, shared her feelings about the split, stating that the relationship has ended since her arrival in New York for acting school.
Barker and Miln had been together for nearly two years, a period during which they lived together for most of the time. "Anyone that has lived with a partner will know when you live with someone it feels like you've been with them a lifetime," Barker said in her video, titled "we broke up."
She described the breakup as "very fresh" and "very new," admitting to crying extensively. Barker indicated she would not be elaborating on the specifics of their separation. "If this relationship and all my relationships have taught me anything it's probably just that I need to really focus on self love and focus on myself and do things that are going to make me happy," she stated.
Barker moved to Dubai at the start of her relationship with Miln. The couple initially made their relationship Instagram official over New Year's and Miln later moved into Barker's home in East Sussex. Their relationship progressed quickly, leading to Barker relocating to Dubai in June 2025. She had intended to split her time between Dubai and the UK to accommodate work commitments while building a life with Miln, who had spent much of his childhood in the UAE. Miln expressed enthusiasm about returning to Dubai, telling Barker's followers he loved "the heat, the culture, I just love everything about the Middle East."
However, Barker's social media content gradually shifted from documenting life in Dubai to focusing on her new life in New York, where she is pursuing acting. Maggie Flanigan Studio and the William Esper Studio, where Barker has enrolled, are known for training professional actors, with alumni including Jeff Goldblum and Kathy Bates.
Friends and family have supported Barker's move to New York. Her best friend, fellow influencer Libby Whitehouse, visited to help her settle in, and her mother, Wendy Barker, also visited the city. Meanwhile, Miln, who continues to reside in Dubai, has shared updates from his own travels, including a trip to Bali with influencer Nathan Samuel. Although both continue to post regularly, their content now appears focused on separate projects and adventures, with their shared appearances becoming less frequent.
