Marvel Studios has revealed a lineup of new actors for its forthcoming X-Men reboot, including Sadie Sink and Adam Driver. The casting was announced Friday at Disney's D23 fan event in the United States.

Sadie Sink, known for her role in "Stranger Things," will portray Jean Grey. Adam Driver will voice the villainous Nathaniel Milbury, also known as Mr. Sinister, appearing via video-link during the announcement. Driver stated that he had considered joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years and felt this film was the right fit.

The currently untitled X-Men film is scheduled for cinematic release in May 2028 and will be directed by Jake Schreier. Sink expressed her excitement about finally discussing her character after months of speculation.

Other cast members announced include Kit Connor from "Heartstopper" as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier (X), Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

This marks a new iteration of Professor X, a role previously played by Sir Patrick Stewart in films such as "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." Stewart is also set to reprise his role as Professor X in the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday," scheduled for release in December, before Abbott takes on the character in the X-Men film.

A new trailer for "Avengers: Doomsday" was also previewed at D23, featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in a confrontation with Thor, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth.

The last X-Men film, "Dark Phoenix," was released in June 2019 under 20th Century Fox. Disney acquired the rights to the franchise earlier that year.
