Singer Sabrina Carpenter was in attendance at a World Cup group match in New Jersey on Thursday, witnessing Ecuador's 2-1 victory against Germany. The win propelled Ecuador into the tournament's knockout stages.

Despite being a goal down early in the match due to a strike from Germany's Leroy Sane, Ecuador equalized through Nilson Angulo. Gonzalo Plata scored the decisive goal with 13 minutes remaining, securing the win for the South American team. Ecuador finished third in Group E.

Carpenter, 27, was seated high in the stands and was seen using binoculars to follow the game. She opted for a navy blue and white polo shirt mini dress for the occasion. She was among several notable figures, including Brad Pitt, Katy Perry, and Paris Hilton, who have attended World Cup matches during the tournament.

Carpenter's appearance comes after a recent incident at the Coachella Festival in April, where she issued an apology for misinterpreting a fan's Arabic celebration as "weird." She later explained on X that her reaction was due to confusion and not ill intent, stating she had not recognized the Zaghrouta, a traditional Middle Eastern and North African celebratory ululation.

The singer's live performances have also garnered attention, including a medley of her songs "Juno," "Espresso," and "Goodbye." During her performances, she has sometimes brought out celebrity guests, such as actors Susan Sarandon, Will Ferrell, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sam Elliot, as well as former co-star Corey Fogelmanis.
