Rylan Clark was unable to host his BBC Radio 2 show, "Rylan On Saturday," this past weekend due to flight cancellations that left him stranded in Nice, France. Mark Goodier stepped in to cover the program, which airs weekly from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. GMT.
Clark shared his predicament on his Instagram Story, humorously stating, “Soz about today's show. I blame everyone but myself. Genuinely had it all sussed out and then flights all cancelled.” He expressed gratitude to Goodier for filling in and mentioned enjoying a rosé while contemplating the situation. He had been on a trip to Nice with his partner and friends.
Clark had planned to fly back early on Saturday morning but encountered the cancellations upon arriving at the airport. He considered an eight-hour train journey as an alternative but ultimately decided to extend his stay for another day, accepting he would miss his radio commitment. "I'm not going to be able to make the show today but the lovely Mark Goodier is going to step in," he informed Emma Willis during her radio show.
This incident follows recent public discussions by Clark regarding his past marriage and personal life. He previously addressed his infidelity, which led to the end of his six-year marriage to Dan Neal in 2021. During an appearance on "The Assembly," Clark reflected on honesty, stating, “Yeah, I think it is. I'm okay admitting I'm in the wrong, because actually I don't deal well with guilt, and I don't deal well with secrets.” He described the period following his divorce as a significant personal breakdown.
Clark also spoke about his current relationship with Kennedy Bates, whom he went public with in January after a holiday in the Maldives. He shared his mother's positive reaction to Bates, noting her initial comment about his handsomeness.
