“Project Hail Mary,” starring Ryan Gosling, is now available for streaming on MGM+. The film, which premiered on June 18, can be accessed for a limited time at a reduced subscription rate as part of an early Prime Day deal.
Subscribers can get their first two months of MGM+ for $0.99 per month. This promotion allows access to the film and other titles within the MGM+ library. The special pricing is available through Amazon's Prime Video platform, and users do not need a paid Amazon Prime membership to participate; a basic Amazon account is sufficient.
Following the release, the subscription will automatically renew at the standard rate of $7.99 per month. The film is inspired by Andy Weir's novel of the same name and follows Dr. Ryland Grace, a science teacher who awakens on a spaceship with amnesia. As he attempts to piece together his mission, he discovers he is tasked with saving Earth's sun from a microorganism that is causing it to die. Grace eventually encounters an alien companion, Rocky, whose own planet faces a similar threat, suggesting they may have to collaborate to survive.
The cast of "Project Hail Mary" includes Ryan Gosling as Dr. Ryland Grace, Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt, and James Ortiz providing the voice and puppetry for the alien Rocky. Other cast members include Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub, Priya Kansara, Malachi Kirby, Liz Kingsman, Mia Soteriou, Orion Lee, and Michelle Greenidge.
