Rupert Grint, widely known for his portrayal of Ron Weasley in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter series, is set to join the Broadway production of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" at the Lyric Theatre. Grint will reprise the role of Ron Weasley for a limited 17-week engagement, beginning on February 2, 2027, and concluding on May 30, 2027.

Grint, 38, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the character, stating, "Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to meet him again in this stage of life. There is something so full-circle and so special about stepping back into Ron’s shoes now when we are both fathers; it is somehow both very familiar and completely new. And the joy of being back on Broadway, this time in a role that defined so much of my life is truly exciting."

This marks Grint's second foray onto the Broadway stage, having previously appeared in the 2014 production of "It's Only A Play." His previous Broadway co-stars included Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane.

Prior to Grint's arrival, his "Harry Potter" film co-star Tom Felton is scheduled to conclude his run as Draco Malfoy on January 3, 2027. Felton's performance has been noted for its layered and emotional portrayal of the character, with one review describing his stage entrance as eliciting a reaction comparable to that of a rock star.

Tickets for Grint's limited engagement are currently available, with prices varying. As of the time of publication, some seats for specific performances were found to be available starting at $242, including fees. A limited number of shows have tickets priced at $300 or less, with the lowest observed price being $242 for a March 6, 2027, performance.

The current cast of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" includes John Skelley as Harry Potter and Rachel Christopher as Hermione Granger. Skelley has prior television credits in "Succession" and "Law & Order: SVU," while Christopher has appeared on Broadway in "For Colored Girls" and in film and television roles in "Girl on the Train" and "Billions."

Daniel Fredrick is the current actor portraying Ron Weasley before Grint's takeover. Fredrick's credits include Broadway's "Take Me Out" and "The Lehman Trilogy," as well as television appearances in "Mare of Easttown."
