Ruben Dias, the Manchester City defender and ex-partner of presenter Maya Jama, has alluded to emotional struggles following their April split. Dias shared a series of shirtless photographs from a trip to Ibiza, accompanied by an Instagram post stating his "feelings are on silent."
Following the couple's separation, Dias focused on his football career, joining the Portugal team for the World Cup in the US. After his team's elimination in the Round of 16, he has been vacationing in Ibiza before returning to training next month.
The footballer's social media activity comes shortly after reports emerged of Jama being seen with chef James Freeman. The TV personality was observed with Freeman outside his restaurant in Notting Hill, west London, where they appeared to share an intimate conversation and a hug.
Maya Jama publicly addressed her breakup from Dias in April, stating on social media that she embraces relationships fully, whether they last or end. She emphasized that personal life decisions are not dictated by public opinion.
Previously, Dias faced accusations of sending late-night follow requests to influencers while still involved with Jama. He has since denied any infidelity, asserting that his relationship with Jama was built on mutual respect and that no boundaries were crossed. He stated that the reasons for their breakup are private.
"A lie told often enough can start to feel like the truth and for that reason I tell you that I didn't cheat, nor did I ever have the intention or temptation to," Dias wrote in his statement, addressing the cheating rumors. "I believe Maya deserves all the respect in the world. The reasons why we broke up are private and belong to us and we've both dealt with it in a very mature way."
