Roxy Wilson, a contestant on the BBC show "The Traitors," has given birth to a daughter. Wilson announced the arrival of her child on Wednesday via an Instagram post, sharing a photo of herself with the newborn at her home in Amsterdam.
"The reason I’ve been quiet on here lately ✨No caption can do this feeling justice," Wilson wrote on Instagram, adding hashtags for "newborn," "motherhood," and "daughter."
Wilson's mother, Judy Wilson, who also appeared on "The Traitors," had announced her daughter's pregnancy live on air in January during an appearance on the British television show "This Morning." At the time, Judy Wilson revealed that Roxy's baby was due on June 12. She is Roxy's adoptive mother, having adopted her when Roxy was five years old.
Roxy Wilson later confirmed the baby's gender during an appearance on "Good Morning Britain" in February. Discussing her involvement in a government campaign to help vulnerable children find foster homes, Wilson spoke about her own experiences.
"I have been the luckiest person and blessed, I absolutely couldn't have asked for anything better in my life," Wilson said on "Good Morning Britain." "Having a role model who mothered me and changed my life, the course of my life, everything about it. Hopefully, I'll be a great mum myself and look after my daughter the way I've been brought up as well."
Wilson recounted how her mother adopted her after a planned return to a foster family in Bristol did not happen. She described being in a foster home in Doncaster when her other foster parents declined to have her return due to illness. Her mother then made arrangements for her to stay, ensuring she had her own room and felt like a permanent part of the family.
