Disney+ has released the first trailer for "The Real Rooneys," a 10-part docuseries offering an inside look at the lives of Coleen and Wayne Rooney and their four sons. The series is scheduled to premiere on September 24.

The teaser footage features Coleen and Wayne engaging in lighthearted banter, with their sons—Kai, 16, Kit, 10, Klay, 13, and Cass, eight—also appearing prominently. "This is my series," Wayne jokes in the trailer, to which Coleen playfully responds, "Are you glad that I let you come on?"

The series, which had a bidding war between Disney+ and Amazon, will reportedly cost £10 million, with Coleen Rooney said to receive £5 million. Cameras have been granted access to the family's £20 million mansion in Cheshire.

"The Real Rooneys" aims to provide an unprecedented view of the family, covering "the highs and lows of married life, raising four lively boys, and supporting eldest son Kai as he pursues his own footballing dream." The synopsis highlights potential "surprising personal revelations, career-defining moments, lavish celebrations and unforgettable family holidays" from locations including their Cheshire home, Barbados, and the Alps.

Wayne Rooney will be shown transitioning from football management to family life, including school runs, while Coleen's involvement capitalizes on her recent success from "I'm A Celebrity." Eldest son Kai is pursuing his football career and is eligible for a professional contract with Manchester United next season, having signed with agent Triple S Sports.

Industry insiders noted the significant public interest in the home lives of footballers, drawing parallels to the success of the Beckham family's documentary. The bidding war for the Rooney series reportedly escalated due to this demand.

Coleen's recent public profile has been boosted by her successful appearance on "I'm A Celebrity." This comes in contrast to Rebekah Vardy, wife of footballer Jamie Vardy, who lost a libel case against Coleen in 2022 and is reportedly working on a pilot for her own reality show.
