Romeo Beckham is set to make his acting debut this November in the upcoming French film "Forty Love." The movie centers on a same-sex romance between two rising tennis stars, marking a new career direction for the 23-year-old.
Beckham, the second eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, has previously explored careers in football, tennis, and modeling. Despite facing the label of a "nepo baby," he is reportedly determined to establish an independent identity through his work. Sources describe him as a "grafter" who intends to "let his work speak for itself."
"Forty Love" is directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti and produced by Hugo Selignac's Chi-Fou-Mi Productions with Studiocanal co-production. The film's synopsis describes it as a "sensual, romantic and deeply moving fable" about the pressures of elite sports and underlying emotions, featuring a love story that proves more challenging than any on-court competition.
Beckham's journey into acting follows a varied path. He began his professional endeavors in modeling at age 10 with Burberry, later gracing the cover of L'Uomo Vogue. He then pursued football, joining the Arsenal FC Academy before stepping away at 13. After a period focusing on tennis, where his skills were noted by his coach as "extraordinary," he returned to football in 2020. He played for Fort Lauderdale CF, a sister club to Inter Miami CF co-owned by his father, and later joined Brentford's B team in England on loan before signing a permanent contract. He concluded his football career in 2024.
Following his football career, Beckham signed with a Paris-based fashion agency and has since worked with brands such as Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, making runway appearances. He also launched his sportswear label, Intra, earlier in June. His parents, David and Victoria Beckham, have also had past forays into acting, with Victoria appearing in "Spice World" and David making cameos in "Modern Family" and "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword."
