Riley Keough and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, quietly welcomed a second child earlier this year, a representative for the actress confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday.
The representative did not disclose the infant’s sex or name. Keough, 36, and Smith-Petersen, 34, are already parents to a daughter, Tupelo, who was born in August 2022 via surrogate and publicly revealed in January 2023.
Keough, best known for her role in the Amazon series "Daisy Jones & The Six," and Smith-Petersen, a professional stuntman and actor from Australia, first met in 2012 while working on the film "Mad Max: Fury Road." They began dating the following year during reshoots in Australia, became engaged in 2014 and were married in Napa, California, in 2015.
The couple kept the birth of their first child private. Smith-Petersen alluded to the couple’s then-secret daughter while reading a letter Keough wrote at the funeral for Keough’s mother, Lisa Marie Presley, in January 2023. In the letter Keough thanked her mother for giving her “strength” and for being “a product of your heart,” remarks Smith-Petersen read aloud on Keough’s behalf.
Keough has spoken publicly about her early certainty that Smith-Petersen was the partner she wanted to start a family with. On "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in 2023, she said that by their second date she thought, “I’m going to marry him and have kids with him,” adding that she felt certain some things were meant to be even before the couple had exchanged “I love you.”
Their growing family follows several years of steady work for Keough, whose television and film career and high-profile family background have kept her in the public eye. Keough is the daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough.
