The ongoing feud between WWE’s Rey Mysterio and his son, Dominik Mysterio, has escalated, culminating in events at AAA’s Triplemania 34. Dominik Mysterio previously expressed a desire to end the rivalry by taking his father's mask, name, and receiving an apology.

Rey Mysterio addressed his son’s demands, stating, "That’s pretty deep for him to say that." He added, "At the end of the day, I believe I have much more tricks up my sleeve than he does." Rey questioned Dominik’s path into the wrestling business, suggesting his son should have experienced the same difficult grind he did starting at age 14. "Maybe I shouldn’t have helped him break into the business. Maybe he should have grinded on his own and scratched and clawed just like I did at the age of 14 when I first broke into the business, which was really tough back then. Now, it’s much easier to get into the business. It’s not like before."

Rey Mysterio also expressed openness to a high-stakes match, saying, "I would love and wait to see that day come to fruition. I would love to step into the ring with Dom and put something on the line. Something that means much more than just a mask."

At Triplemania 34, Dominik Mysterio’s associate Omos defeated Rey Mysterio in the main event of Night 1. Omos then attacked Rey Mysterio, driving him through a table while he was on a stretcher. However, Rey Mysterio retaliated in Night 2’s AAA Mega Championship match, counting the pinfall for El Grande Americano, who defeated Dominik Mysterio for the title. Despite these events, Dominik Mysterio has reportedly continued to pursue his father's legacy within WWE.
