Reese Witherspoon and Anya Taylor-Joy graced the world premiere of Apple TV+'s new crime thriller series "Lucky" on Monday evening at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles. The two lead actresses and co-executive producers opted for striking black and white outfits, complementing each other on the red carpet.
Witherspoon, 50, wore a black corset minidress with a textured A-line skirt, accentuating her waist. She paired the ensemble with matching kitten heels featuring sparkly details and accessorized with diamond jewelry. Taylor-Joy, 30, donned a dramatic, low-cut velvet gown in an off-white hue. The wrap-style dress featured floral details on the hip and a thigh-high slit, paired with white sandal heels and delicate silver jewelry.
The series, based on the novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley, stars Taylor-Joy as Luciana 'Lucky' Armstrong, a con artist on the run after a heist goes awry. She is pursued by the FBI and a crime boss. The limited series, executive produced by Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine company, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, July 15.
Joining the stars were cast members and crew, including Annette Bening, who plays a key role in the series. Bening wore a navy-blue pinstriped blazer with matching trousers and a white button-down shirt. Taylor-Joy's husband, musician Malcolm McRae, also attended, dressed in a black suit with a white striped shirt and a burgundy tie.
Other notable attendees included Lauren Neustadter, an actress and producer with Hello Sunshine, who wore a black off-the-shoulder midi dress. Writer and showrunner Jonathan Tropper arrived in a brown suit paired with a black shirt and sneakers. Writer and executive producer Cassie Pappas, and executive producer and showrunner Jonathan Van Tulleken were also present in black ensembles.
Drew Starkey, who makes a brief appearance in the series, was seen in a blue-gray blazer with a white top and black trousers. Marissa Stapley, the author of the novel, wore a bright pink off-the-shoulder dress.
Taylor-Joy later changed into a champagne-gold slip dress with a sheer, lace bodice for the "Lucky" afterparty, where she continued to celebrate with cast and crew.
