Ranvir Singh, known for her role on "Good Morning," has revealed that her participation in the new ITV gameshow "The Box" pushed her beyond her comfort zone and was a life-changing experience, primarily by helping her overcome a long-standing phobia of water.

The presenter, 49, described the experience as "out of my comfort zone" but ultimately rewarding. She explained that her son, Tushaan, 14, is very active and enjoys water, and had frequently encouraged her to join him. Singh admitted to a strong aversion to water where she couldn't touch the bottom. However, following her involvement in "The Box," she found the courage to go into the water with her son.

"It was the first time that I've actually snorkelled with him out in the sea," Singh stated. "He was so proud of me. I was glad for him that he could see me conquer my fear. So it's definitely changed how I approach my life. It's opened up doors. I feel really proud of myself."

"The Box," hosted by Gary Lineker, involves 10 celebrities sealed in yellow boxes and dropped into mystery locations to face unpredictable challenges with minimal instruction. Singh noted that the show's format is vastly different from her usual news reporting, where she is accustomed to having information and answers readily available. "It's very discombobulating for me from my day job to have no briefing notes," she said.

Singh expressed hope that her colleagues, including Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley, will be surprised by her performance. She also highlighted the unexpected benefit of forming genuine connections with fellow celebrity participants, noting that their paths likely wouldn't cross in their daily professional lives.

Gary Lineker, who signed a deal with ITV for the show after leaving the BBC, described "The Box" as something he had never done before, appealing to him due to its unique concept. The gameshow is slated to begin on Saturday, September 5, on ITV1 and ITVX, with each episode concluding with an elimination challenge called "The Duel."
