QI will return to BBC Two and iPlayer this autumn for its W season, 23 years after the show's first episode aired. The revival features an all-star lineup, with Sandi Toksvig returning as host and Alan Davies again guiding the panel.
Producer Piers Fletcher said, "We had a whale of a time making the 'W' Series of QI. After 23 years learning how to weave together wisdom, wit and whimsy we're really getting the hang of it, I think. Watch it, and thank me later." The series continues the program’s alphabet-driven format, a concept the show has used since its inception, with the current season following the letter W. The lineup will bring together first-time guests and returning favorites as the hosts navigate the show’s trademark rounds.
Among the guest stars are comedians Jimmy Carr, Patrick Kielty, Aisling Bea and Jo Brand, with Julian Clary, Tom Allen and Russell Kane among others. The stars will wrestle with the Weird and Wonderful, dabble in Wordmongery, puzzle over Who, What, Why and unravel all manner of Whatnots. QI will return to BBC Two and iPlayer this autumn, although an exact start date has not yet been announced. The show’s familiar alphabet-theme persists, with the last season previously titled V and the ongoing aim of weaving knowledge with whimsy.
Alan Davies, one of the show’s long-running hosts, has also made headlines separately this week after venting on X about ticket resale for Ariana Grande’s London shows. Davies said he queued for the pre-sale on behalf of his daughter but found tickets already listed on resale sites at inflated prices, labeling the touts as "scumbag tout sites". The incident underscores the high demand and price spikes that have become common in popular tours, even as fans await the QI revival.
The return marks another chapter for QI, which has built a devoted following by pairing sharp humor with curious facts. As the W-season nears, fans can expect the same blend of trivia, banter and big-name guests that helped define the show since its inception.
