Kimberly Wyatt, a member of the Pussycat Dolls, has indicated that the group's current reunion tour could potentially be their last. This sentiment follows the cancellation of 33 planned dates in the United States and Canada due to poor ticket sales, which left arenas significantly empty.
Wyatt, 44, alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Ashley Roberts, announced the group's return earlier this year with a new single and a world tour. The European leg of the tour began on September 9 in Denmark and is scheduled to conclude in London on October 13, with many of these shows reportedly selling out.
The U.S. and Canada dates were slated to begin in Palm Desert, California, on June 5. However, organizers were forced to cancel these shows only a month prior, even after reducing ticket prices to $30, as arenas were reportedly 80% empty.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Wyatt reflected on the potential finality of the tour. "I think going on stage knowing it could be your last is something really special because you don't miss any of those moments," she stated. She added that the members approach the tour as grown women, focusing on celebrating their past achievements rather than proving themselves. "It's really about just embracing the fact that we did something really awesome together and that nostalgia factor is still there," Wyatt explained.
Wyatt also spoke about reuniting with her bandmates after a significant period, noting the life changes each member has experienced. She has built a life in Surrey with her husband and three children, running a dance academy and pursuing radio and DJing work. "This tour is about being really open about who we are and who we've become after all of these years, but also just a real acceptance for giving us the space to kind of re work what this means to us," she said.
The Pussycat Dolls' comeback has been met with controversy since its announcement, largely due to the exclusion of founding members Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton. Bachar and Sutta have stated they were not asked to participate in the reunion, with Sutta labeling it a "cash grab." Bachar expressed disappointment on a personal level but remained proud of her role in the group's history, emphasizing her commitment to transparency and well-being.
The tour is set to conclude in London on October 13.
