The 20th anniversary of the End of the Road Festival featured a headline performance by the British indie-rock band Pulp. The festival, held in the countryside of Cranborne Chase near Blandford Forum, attracted 15,000 attendees and also hosted comedians such as Fern Brady and Adam Buxton.
Pulp, who have never before performed at End of the Road, played a set that included hits like "Common People," "This Is Hardcore," and "Underwear." During the performance, frontman Jarvis Cocker shared Pulp's history with slideshows of artwork and visuals from the band's past. Cocker also wished the festival a happy birthday and toasted to its future before indicating he would be taking a break.
The event took place during the warmest UK summer on record, with provisional Met Office figures indicating it is the warmest since records began in 1884. Organizers had issued warnings about the dry conditions of the ground and vegetation, prohibiting barbecues and open fires on the festival site.
Jarvis Cocker has a history with the festival, having previously performed a solo set on the Garden Stage in 2019.
