Prince Harry could see his father, King Charles, for the first time in more than a year and a half when both are in London on Wednesday, The Mail on Sunday reported.

Harry is flying from the United States to attend the WellChild Awards on Thursday night and is expected to remain in the United Kingdom for about a week. The king is due to be in the capital midweek to receive cancer treatment, having spent the summer at Balmoral, the newspaper said.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Wednesday is the quietest day on the prince's itinerary, and there is currently no specified window for a meeting with the king. The newspaper quoted an unnamed source saying that a meeting "is not off the table" and that "the only people who would know about it are Clive Alderton [the King's private secretary] and Charles and Harry. If anything is planned, then he is keeping this extremely close to his chest. It certainly is part of his intention to see his father. If it's on Wednesday, then he would make it work."

The report did not cite any official confirmation from Buckingham Palace or from representatives for the prince. It was not immediately clear whether an invitation to meet had been extended or accepted.

Harry's trip to Britain for the WellChild Awards follows periods of limited contact with senior members of the royal family. Details in the report indicate careful handling of any potential meeting: The Mail on Sunday said discussions, if taking place, would be kept tightly controlled and known only to a small number of people involved in the king's private schedule.

Representatives for the palace and for Prince Harry did not immediately provide comment to the newspaper's account. The WellChild Awards celebrate young people living with serious illnesses and their carers and typically draw royal guests and public figures.

The Mail on Sunday piece was published late on Sept. 6, 2025. It did not set out a confirmed date, time or location for any encounter between Harry and the king but said that if a meeting were arranged the prince would make time to attend.
