The Summer I Turned Pretty concluded on Prime Video with the Season 3 finale, which aired Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, and delivered the long-awaited resolution to the series’ central love triangle. Prime Video and showrunner Jenny Han adapted the show to match the three‑book arc of Han’s Young Adult series, and Han has confirmed the television run was intended to end with the third season.
Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty consists of 11 episodes, bringing the series total to 26 episodes after a seven‑episode first season and an eight‑episode second season. The finale resolves the storylines of Belly Conklin (Lola Tung), Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney), Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno), Taylor (Rain Spencer) and Steven (Sean Kaufman), closing the adaptation of Han’s trilogy.
Han’s three novels — The Summer I Turned Pretty (2009), It’s Not Summer Without You (2010) and We’ll Always Have Summer (2011) — provided the blueprint for the series. Season 3 is adapted from the third book, We’ll Always Have Summer, and Han told Entertainment Weekly ahead of the third season that "Three books, three seasons. It feels right to me." With the third season now concluded, there are no announced plans for a Season 4.
Fans have asked whether the franchise might continue in another form. While there are no confirmed spin‑offs or continuations in development, Han has not completely ruled out revisiting the Cousins Beach world. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times she said she would consider additional stories if she found a project that inspired a sustained commitment: "It has to feel like genuine excitement for me, because showrunning is 24/7, 365 days a year… I feel I have to be there every day to make sure I can stand behind it. I'm definitely open to doing more stories in the universe, it's just that I want to figure out what the story is that I feel so compelled to tell it that I'm willing to spend the next few years throwing my whole body into it."
The series, produced for Prime Video, is available to stream on that platform. As a Prime Video original, full access to Seasons 1 through 3 requires an Amazon Prime subscription.
The televised adaptation has been notable for its close alignment with Han’s books and for drawing a dedicated audience over three seasons. Viewers followed Belly’s coming‑of‑age summers at Cousins Beach and the evolving dynamics among the core group across the show’s run, which remained faithful to the source material’s emotional beats while expanding scenes and character moments for television.
With the creative decision to conclude the narrative at the end of the third season, the series joins a number of YA adaptations that have elected to complete their arcs on screen rather than extend beyond the original literary source. For now, the Prime Video series will remain available for rewatching, and any future projects tied to the TSITP universe would be subject to Han’s interest and a production commitment that meets her standards for involvement.
The Summer I Turned Pretty helped cement Han’s profile as a writer whose work translates into television; Han previously developed the To All the Boys franchise into an onscreen series with its own spinoff, XO, Kitty. That precedent, along with the show’s popularity, leaves open the possibility of further storytelling in the same world, but as of the Season 3 finale there are no announced plans to continue the televised narrative beyond the three‑season adaptation.
