Prime Video's recently released series "Sterling Point" was primarily filmed in the picturesque Muskoka region of Central Ontario, Canada. The series, which explores themes of sisterhood through the story of twins Annie and Connor Jacobson inheriting property from their estranged grandfather, uses the natural beauty of the Muskoka Lakes area as its setting.
Series creator Megan Park, who also directed the 2024 film "My Old Ass," chose Muskoka as a filming location, a region she is familiar with from her previous work. "Sterling Point" is not set in a real place called Sterling Point, but the filming locations are situated in a real and recognizable area.
A notable coincidence during filming occurred when the production discovered they had shot some outdoor scenes at the same location used for the "Camp Rock" film. Park described this as a "happy accident" that generated excitement among the crew.
Another serendipitous connection emerged when a character in the first episode mentions making eye contact with model and actress Kaia Gerber across the lake. Park confirmed that Gerber has a residence in Muskoka, making the on-screen sighting a plausible nod to the area's notable residents. The series premiered on August 5, the same day Gerber's new series "The Shards" was released on Hulu.
"Sterling Point" is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
