Post Malone has canceled his upcoming tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, including his scheduled appearance at the Strummingbird festival. The decision comes just weeks after the American artist announced his engagement.

The artist, born Austin Post, was slated to perform seven shows across Australia and one in New Zealand as part of his BIG ASS World Tour. The tour was scheduled to begin in Melbourne on October 9 and include stops in Ballarat, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, and the Sunshine Coast, concluding in Auckland.

While the tour is reportedly postponed rather than canceled, no alternative dates have been announced. This would have been Post Malone's first tour in the region in three years. Tickets for the now-postponed shows went on sale on May 26, and information regarding refunds for ticket holders has not yet been clarified.

Post Malone previously indicated a need to push back his wider tour schedule to focus on completing new music. In a statement shared via Instagram Stories earlier this year, he mentioned that the timing was not ideal for the tour.

The Strummingbird festival, a country music event with planned dates in Newcastle, Ballarat, and the Sunshine Coast, will now have to find a replacement headliner. Post Malone's withdrawal leaves the festival without its headline act.

In his personal life, Post Malone recently proposed to his on-off girlfriend, Christy Lee, approximately 14 months after their previous split. The couple's engagement was announced by close friends on social media.

During his previous tour in Australia in November 2023, Post Malone participated in the local tradition of drinking from a shoe, known as a 'shoey,' multiple times during his performances.
