Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, and his fiancée Harriet Sperling are set to marry on Saturday, June 6, in Kemble, a village in Gloucestershire. The ceremony will take place at All Saints Church, a parish church believed to date back to the 11th century.
Peters Phillips, 48, resides near Kemble at Gatcombe Park, where his mother also lives. Sperling, 45, a pediatric nurse, grew up in the nearby village of South Cerney. Kemble, with a population of approximately 940 residents, is described as a traditional Cotswold village characterized by thatched cottages and 16th-century inns.
The village, historically part of Wiltshire, is situated four miles southwest of Cirencester. Nearly 70 homes in Kemble are managed by a local charitable trust established in 1968 to offer affordable rents.
Kemble serves as a transport hub, with Kemble Railway Station providing direct rail links to London Paddington and Swindon. The station is also a key access point for larger towns such as Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Beyond the church, the village amenities include a pub, shops, cafes, a village hall, a Post Office, and a doctor's surgery. The area surrounding Kemble is known for its countryside walks and is the closest settlement to Thames Head, the traditional source of the River Thames.
Cotswold Airport, formerly RAF Kemble, is located just over a mile from the village. It previously served as the base for the RAF Red Arrows and now operates for private aviation, events, and aircraft recycling.
