Perez Hilton, the gossip blogger, received medical treatment for an overdose and multiple lacerations following a suicide attempt on August 4, according to a Florida incident report. A fire rescue team responded to his Florida home and began treatment at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital.
Hilton's sister, Barbara Lavandeira, contacted law enforcement after finding him self-harming and covered in blood during a TikTok livestream. Lavandeira had left the residence with Hilton's three children, but he subsequently left the home and approached her car, banging on the window. Officers arrived to find Hilton had locked himself back inside the house.
Lavandeira told Page Six that her brother remains hospitalized and is receiving ongoing medical treatment for his injuries. She stated that his recovery will require significant time and that he currently has no access to a cellphone, social media, or the internet. The focus, she said, is on his physical and mental well-being.
According to Lavandeira, Hilton had been battling severe depression and had previously sought hospitalization. She recalled him expressing feelings of emptiness, hopelessness, and being a burden to others. He admitted to taking leftover painkillers from a March surgery, stating he just wanted to sleep. Although he had been discharged from a prior hospital visit and was in therapy, Lavandeira described the August 4 incident as the "darkest days" for her family.
Upon entering the bathroom where Hilton had locked himself, Lavandeira discovered him naked, injured, and holding a box cutter. She reported not recognizing him, noting a change in his eyes before he smiled at her. Following this discovery, she contacted authorities and removed the children from the home. Hilton's mother has since filed for temporary custody of the three children.
