Penélope Cruz Shines in Feathered Gown at Toronto Film Festival
The Spanish actress dazzles on the red carpet for the premiere of 'La Bola Negra,' promoting two new films.
Penélope Cruz captivated onlookers at the Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday night for the premiere of "La Bola Negra." The 52-year-old Spanish actress donned a striking white feathered gown, showcasing her silhouette as she posed for photographers.
The actress paired the gown with a gold necklace and styled her hair in an updo, allowing the feathers to cascade over her shoulders. She completed the look with matching white heels.
This appearance follows a busy schedule for Cruz, who traveled from the Venice Film Festival directly to Toronto. She is currently promoting two films that debuted at the Cannes Film Festival: the Spanish epic "La Bola Negra" and Florian Zeller's "Bunker."
"La Bola Negra," directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, is a Spanish-language film set across three different time periods. The movie explores the intertwined lives of three gay men and has earned nominations for both the Palme d'Or and the Queer Palm. Cruz described the film as a story centered on "humanity" and "empathy," and "a love letter to cinema, poetry, and art."
In "Bunker," Cruz reunites with her husband, Javier Bardem, for their ninth on-screen collaboration. The psychological thriller features the couple as Sofia and Miguel, whose 17-year marriage is tested when architect Miguel accepts a morally ambiguous project to build a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire. Sofia, meanwhile, begins working with an American novelist.
On Monday, Cruz attended the premiere for "Bunker" in a figure-hugging leather and lace dress with a thigh-high split, complemented by a black blazer and strappy heels. She accessorized with diamond jewelry by Garatti.
Bardem, 57, also attended the "La Bola Negra" premiere, opting for a more understated look with a shirt, blazer, jeans, and trainers. The couple, married for 16 years, have two children, Leo, 15, and Luna, 13. They first met in 1992 on the set of "Jamon Jamon" and later reconnected for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" in 2008, a film for which Cruz won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
