Penélope Cruz captured attention on the red carpet at the 83rd Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, arriving for the premiere of "The Bunker." The Spanish actress, 52, wore a striking drop-waist red gown featuring a high-leg slit and a matching tassel belt.
She was joined by her husband, Javier Bardem, who complemented her look in a navy suit with shiny lapels and a black bow tie. The couple both star in the psychological thriller, directed by Florian Zeller, portraying a married couple named Sofia and Miguel. The film's plot centers on architect Miguel's marriage to Sofia after he accepts a project to build a bunker for a billionaire.
Other cast members also graced the premiere. Stephen Graham, who plays an unspecified role in the film, posed with Bardem, with the two actors appearing to have developed a strong bond during filming. Graham opted for a classic black suit and an open-collared white shirt. Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, appeared to take inspiration from Cruz's red attire, sporting a bold red suit jacket, a striped shirt, and a white tie.
Maggie Gyllenhaal, president of this year's jury, also attended the event, dressed in a sophisticated black V-neck dress with accentuated shoulders.
The couple also attended the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on Monday. For that arrival, Cruz wore a plunging black dress with gold brooch detailing, paired with a khaki suede bag, black slingback heels, and stylish sunglasses. Bardem kept his look more casual in a blue shirt, jeans, and white trainers.
Cruz and Bardem have been married for 16 years and share two children. Bardem previously spoke about their commitment to family, stating that since the birth of their first child, at least one of them has been home when taking acting roles. He expressed his gratitude for being able to share life experiences with Cruz, whom he described as a "beautiful, good human being" and "amazingly f*****g beautiful."
Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" in 2008, and Bardem received the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for "No Country for Old Men" in 2007. Bardem also portrayed the villain Raoul Silva in the 2012 James Bond film "Skyfall."
