Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem arrived hand-in-hand at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on Monday.

The married couple has traveled to the Italian city for the premiere of Florian Zeller's "Bunker," in which they star as a couple. Cruz, 52, wore a plunging black dress with a gold brooch, paired with a khaki suede bag and slingback heels. Bardem, 57, opted for a more casual ensemble of a blue shirt, jeans, and white trainers.

As they boarded a water taxi, Cruz removed her heels for ease. The film "Bunker" features the pair as Sofia and Miguel, a married couple whose lives are impacted when Miguel accepts a project to build a bunker for a billionaire.

Arriving at the water taxi, Penelope decided it would be easier to ditch her heels as she took off her footwear while being helped onto the vessel

Cruz and Bardem have been married for 16 years and have two children. Bardem previously shared that he and Cruz have made it a priority for one of them to always be home with their children when taking on acting roles. He has expressed his admiration for Cruz, calling her a "good human being" and "amazingly beautiful."

Both actors have previously received Academy Awards for their supporting roles: Cruz for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" (2008) and Bardem for "No Country for Old Men" (2007).

The Venice Film Festival, which began the previous Wednesday with the premiere of "Ink," a film about Rupert Murdoch, will conclude on September 12 with the Italian costume drama "Dio Ride."

American actress Maggie Gyllenhaal is serving as the jury chair for the main competition, joined by an international panel of filmmakers and critics.

Other notable attendees expected at the festival include Noel and Liam Gallagher, Rooney and Kate Mara, Pamela Anderson, Sam Rockwell, and John Malkovich.
