Pedro Pascal said his younger sister, actor Lux Pascal, is the first person to empower him as he confronts "existential issues around age," during an interview the actor conducted for the October 2025 issue of Elle.

The 50-year-old star told his sister, 33, that her blunt encouragement keeps him going when he doubts himself. "Something different every day. Especially in a period where I am facing existential issues around age, you're the first person to empower me and to give me confidence, to the point where your lack of patience for it is what gives me confidence," he said. "Because you're just like, 'Enough is enough. You're the s***,' and you're the person I believe the most, so that keeps me going."

Lux Pascal recalled a moment when she called her brother in tears and he urged her to be herself. "I just called you crying and you were just saying no, shaking your head. Because I was telling you about what was making me cry, but you were just like, 'Just be yourself. People will see it eventually. Just be yourself.' And I was just like, Yes, he's right," she said.

The siblings have spoken publicly about their close relationship in recent years. Pedro has described Lux as one of the "most powerful people and personalities" he knows, and said in a 2024 Esquire interview that he felt a protective, parental role toward Lux and a younger brother, Nicolás, after the death of their mother, Verónica Pascal, in February 1999. Pedro was 24 at the time and Lux was seven.

Lux Pascal graduated from the Juilliard School in 2023 and has appeared in projects including The Prince, Invisible Heroes and the Chilean drama series Los 80. She publicly came out as transgender in 2021 in an interview on the cover of Chilean magazine Ya, and has credited Pedro with playing an important role in her transition. She recalled telling him about the decision over FaceTime; according to Lux, Pedro asked how she felt and responded, "Perfect, this is incredible."

Pedro Pascal has also voiced public support for transgender people beyond his family. Earlier this year he shared an Instagram post that read, "A world without trans people has never existed and never will," adding in the caption, "I can't think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorising the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist."

Pascal has been in the public eye for about two decades, with roles in film and television that include The Mandalorian. The Elle interview, in which he sat down to speak with his sister, offered a candid look at how family ties and mutual support have factored into both siblings' personal lives and careers.
